4/20 Special: HDMG’s Top Smoking Songs

4/20 Special: HDMG’s Top Smoking Songs

In honor of the Stoners’ Holiday, we’ve thrown together a playlist of our favorite smoking songs to share with you guys. Feel free to add the playlist on your Spotify, and read through our reasoning for loving the songs that we do.

Zo West:

  • Because I Got High – Afroman
I really dig the vibe of this song and honestly, I feel like everyone can relate.
  • Blueberry Yum Yum – Ludacris featuring Sleepy Brown
One of Ludacris’ best songs in my opinion and his flow is just ridiculous on this track.
  • Smoke Two Joints – Sublime
A true feel-good song that you can just chill and smoke out to.
  • KK – Wiz Khalifa featuring Project Pat and Juicy J
A true stoner anthem that everyone can relate to.
  • French Inhale – Snoop Dogg featuring Wiz Khalifa and Mike Posner
Wiz and Snoop combined with Mike Posner on the hook make this a very chill and relaxing song

  • I Smell Smoke – Mystikal
A little bouncy, a little funky, a little humorous…it all adds up to a lot of awesome.
  • Up There – Project Pat featuring Krayzie Bone
It’s kinda fun, but in a more mellow mood, so you can still enjoy your chill moment at the same time.
(I was going to put “Smokin’ Buddah” by  Krayzie Bone, but Spotify doesn’t have it for you guys to enjoy. Something about that melodic vocal tone, and the guitar, just gets me in the mood to roll one on the spot.)
  • Hits from the Bong – Cypress Hill
It’s that mellow, easy to chill to beat, along with the lyrics that just make it classic.
  • Hay – Crucial Conflict
The shit is just too damn bouncy and catchy. It may not have the best audio quality, but that shit don’t matter much haha.
  • Smokin Song – Lil’ Wyte
So catchy and just easy to rap along with. “Smoke one. What the fuck you waitin’ on?”

S.B. tha Flamethrowa:

  • Budda Lovahz – Bone Thugs N Harmony
This song is the first song I smoked my first blunt summer of 1995. It was me, my cousin, our homie (R.I.P. Ced), 2 of our other homeboys, they were skipping on the last day of school, I got sent home over a fight. long story short, they had a blunt rolled, I had the boombox, one of our homeboys pulled out the E 1999/Eternal Tape and the rest was history.
  • I Got 5 On It – Luniz
The classic anthem for the stoners. If it weren’t for this song, nobody would be putting in on it… if you didn’t have 5 on it, you can’t partake in any way.
  • 6:30 – Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa
6:30 the new 420??? Nah it’s an affiliate of 420 because it’s a high school stoner’s anthem for those that either don’t wanna go to first-period or don’t want to go at all. Or, it can be a weekend weed song.
  • See Weed Diet – Wreckshop Family
It’s a Houston Smoker’s classic…the interlude is hella hilarious. “Nah Nah. I don’t hear nothing but feet going towards that what?? That Door…”
  • Budsmokers Only – Bone Thugs N Harmony
Between the Legendary sample from Earth, Wind and Fire and the smoker’s logical slang from Lay, Kray, Biz, and Wish. It’s the first “Stoner Couple’s Slow Jam.” Something to smoke to and to slow dance with ya stoner female, as well.

Tyler Lyons

    • Marijuana – Kid Cudi
It’s super laid back and smooth, I love it
    • Fried Day – Bizzy Bone
I used to be super heavy into Bone, I still like listening to them. This is one my favorites
    • Medicated – Wiz Khalifa featuring Chevy Woods and Juicy J
By this time I was big into Wiz, but this was one of the last ones that really stuck with me
    • The Recipe – Kendrick Lamar featuring Dr. Dre
Easily one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite artists. Women, weed, and weather. Doesn’t that say enough?
(I was also gonna say Budsmokers Only by Bone Thugs N Harmony, but S.B. beat me to it. As if I was the only one to listen to that shit haha. Bone was a big influence for us so they were definitely in rotation.)
  • Mary Jane’s Last Dance – Tom Petty
Regardless of what genres you listen to, this is such an epic and iconic smoking song. I remember hearing this as a kid and just being blown away. R.I.P. Tom Petty
